BENKELMAN, Neb. — Another shot at an undefeated proved far better for the Dundy County-Stratton Thursday evening.

Coach Mike Spargo’s Tigers brilliantly regained their teeth following a narrow loss at Arapahoe last week to defeat North Platte St. Patrick’s, 42-21.

Though official stats did not arrive before deadline today, Gazette photographer Steve Towery reported that super junior quarterback Ethan Latta scored four touchdowns.

Junior quarterback Dante Horner guided a Tiger attack to only four points less than St. Pat’s (5-1) allowed in its five previous games — 46.

Meanwhile, Tiger defenders like Lane Bybee and company contained an offense that scored 68, 68 and 50 during three earlier wins this season.

Both teams are now 5-1. However, the Tigers have climbed to No. 6 in Class D-1 power points while those Irish are now No. 17.

Arapahoe (5-0) is currently No. 4.
