CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — A trio of 100-yard efforts and awesome Trojan defense fueled Cambridge’s 42-0 win over Maywood-Hayes Center Thursday evening.

Freshman quarterback Abram Norton passed for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, senior Tayten Koeppen gained 107 rush yards and classmate Jayden Ruf reached 100 with both also crossing the home goal lines.

Ruf’s 16 total tackles why the 4-2 Trojans delivered their second shutout victory in three games.

Plus don’t forget how junior Krayton Ruggles intercepted three May-Hay passes.

Cambridge also blanked the Bertrand Vikings, 46-0, on Sept. 20 at Bertrand.

Junior Brady Ahlemeyer caught one of Norton’s two TD throws while catching a Trojan-best three aerials overall for 51 yards.

Norton tossed his other TD only two yards to senior Carter Hanes.

The Nortons added 75 rushing yards to the Trojans’ 311 total. Russell gained 46 and sophomore Roy Norton, Jr. carried twice for 29.

Other leading Trojan defenders were junior Maverick Webb with 14 total tackles, junior Colton Perks nine and Koeppen another nine.
