Falcons rebound for 38-6 beatdown of Vikings

TRENTON, Neb. — The Hitchcock County Falcons shook off a stunning Bertrand early touchdown pass to win 38-6 Friday evening.

Falcon rushers teamed for 299 yards with junior Jaret Neben gaining 109 and scoring one TD.

Quarterback Jack Baker rushed for another 92 yards while scoring two touchdowns.

Yet Backer also completed six of seven passes for 137 yards and two more scores.

Junior Adam Kisker caught one among his team-high three receptions gaining 36.

Neben turned his one catch into another six points after rumbing 60 yards.

Sophomore Carter Propp added 91 yards on 17 carries en route to also finding the end zone.

Meanwhile, the Hitchcok (4-1 record) defense blanked Bertrand after that one first-quarter Viking score.

Senior Dalten Hagan made 10 total tackles with five being solos.

Neben broke through for nine stops while juniors Karson Hubl, Karson Shuler and Jayce Hauxwell each made eight.

Hauxwell added two pass receptions where he gained 41 yards.

Neben also picked off one Bertrand pass as the Vikings slipped to 1-4. They did score 100 points in two other combined games against Brady (66) and Kenesaw (34).
