Wild six, five, four-TD performances top prep football weekend

WALLACE, Neb. — Junior Houston Billeter’s six touchdown passes couldn’t quite match nine Wallace TDs in a 67-45 Wildcat victory Friday evening.

Billeter completed 29 of 40 overall which produced 402 yards for the Roughriders (2-2).

Senior Trenton Williams was almost unstopped with 243 receiving yards on 16 catches which turned into four touchdowns.

Sophomore Deric Kelley caught another eight, gaining 128 and two more Southwest scores.

However, Wallace (3-1) used much better balance with sophoore Colt Franklin throwing four TDs and Ashtin Johns rushing to another four scores.

Overall, Wallace outrushed Southwest by a 280-35 margin.

Paxton 35,

Wau.-Palisade 27

PAXTON, Neb. — The Paxton Tigers overcame Krayton Wiese’s 299 combined yards with two late touchdowns Friday evening.

The 205-pound sophomore gained 185 yards on 26 rushes and completed three passes for 114 including two touchdowns.

Wiese found Nathan Blackman on a 51-yard strike that put Wauneta-Palisade (2-2) ahead 27-19 early in Friday’s final quarter.

An earlier huge moment was Wiese taking a kickoff 74 yards to the first Broncos TD. An ensuing two-point conversion made it 8-7.

Wiese delivered a 42-yard scoring strike to Aden Acton before running eight yards to another TD and 21-13 Broncos advantage.

Yet Paxton (3-1) answered every timewhether it two touchdown passes or three runs.

The final two scores from 20 and 15 yards along with successful two-point plays finished this Tigers home comeback win.

Blackman completed seven other passes for 78 yards with Acton’s three receptions covering 74 to lead W-P.

Noah Sandman made a 30-yard catch-run while Grayden Sutherland snabbed two more throws which he gained 21.

Walker’s 20 rush yards and 36 from Casey Walker were other Bronco highlights.

Blackman’s 11 total tacles topped the W-P defense and Acton made nine stops. Both Broncos intercpted one Paxton pass.

Wiese recovered two fumbles while Sutherland blocked a Tiger kick.

Rawlins 48,

Hill City 28

HILL CITY, Kan. — Ryan Sramek’s 316 yards on 30 carries and five touchdowns powered 3-1 Rawlins County.

Senior Dorian Culwell reached 100 rush yards while adding two TDs. Culwell caught two Sramek passes for 44 yards and another score.

Junior Tucker Prideaux totaled 15 tackles with a terrific 12 solo stops.

Senior Asa Popp and junior Israel Aguilar both added seven solos among their 11 tackles.

Dec.-Oberlin 32,

St. Francis 14

BIRD CITY, Kan. — Sophomore Josiah Patangall was super strong again with 210 rushing yards and three TDs for 3-1 Decatur Community Frieday evening.

Freshman Kaden Sowers also reached the end zone among his 70 ground years.

Pattangall also went to the air, completing three of four passes including one huge 55-yard scoring strike to senior Talan Sauvage.

Chase County 49,

Alliance 0

IMPERIAL, Neb. — The Longhorns stomped winless Alliance to reach 3-2 this season.

No other details were obtained.

Loomis 36,

Cambridge 16

CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — The 5-0 Loomis Wolves built a 22-0 halftime lead with sophomore Jace Schukar gaining 125 rush yards.

Freshman Braxton Mitchell ran 64 yards to one of the two Trojan touchdowns.

Senior Tayten Koeppen caught a six-point pass from freshman quarterback Abram Norton.

Norton completed nine of 18 passes as senior Krayton Ruggles caught three for 52.

Senior Jayden Ruf, junior Hodge Rayburn, sophomore Roy Hoelscher and Koeppen pulled in two Trojan passes apiece.

Junior Colton Perks totaled 11 tackles while Ruf, juniors Maverick Webb and Brady Ahlemeyer each secured 10. Ahlemeyer made seven solo tackles.

The Trojans (3-2) host Maywood-Hayes Center Thursday night.

Alma 50,

So. Valley 0

STAMFORD, Neb. — Senior Sam Bantam’s 126 rushing yards highlighted a rough Southern Valley evening against neighbor Alma.

Bantam carried 27 times to his season-best ground effort. Senior qauarterback Tyler Grove completed three passes for another 53.

Senior Raiden Rickert topped 50 yards with his two pass receptions.

Senior Nate Grilli delivered four defensive tackles including one in the Alma backfield, but Southern Valley still slipped to 0-5.

S-E-M 56,

Med Valley 31

SUMNER, Neb. — Sophomore Lucas Einspahr’s 20 rushes for 173 yards topped a Medicine Valley effort which couldn’t overcome an early 36-0 deficit.

Einspahr reached six-point paradise three gimes while averagin 8.7 yards a carry.

Sophomore Mason Roblee competed eight pass which gained 92 yars, including a 26-yard TD connection with soph Ethan Brown.

Einspahr also made six solo tackles and seven assists to top the Raiders defense.

Senior Kaleb Einsphar added 10 stops: five solos and five assists.

Thursday

Overton 65,

May-Hay 27

MAYWOOD, Neb. — Unbeaten Overton reached 5-0 even though junior Sawyer Dibbern (65 rush yards) and sophomore Kade Broz (64) scored three TDs for Maywood-Hayes Center (2-3 record).

Both Wolves averaged better than five yards per rush, but Overton countered with five rushing scores and TD passes to three receivers.

The Wolves completed one of four passes for just one yard.
