Bison volleyball wins finale at Holdrege on Saturday

HOLDREGE, Neb. — McCook rallied to take down Grand Island Central Catholic 22-25, 26-24, 25-21 to salvage one volleyball win at Saturday's Holdrege Invitational.

The Bison (7-9 record) were fresh off a win at Hershey Thursday night but fell 25-19, 25-19 to host Holdrege starting play Saturday morning.

Talented Maywood-Hayes Center then improved to 14-2 with 25-19, 21-25, 25-15 pool-play victory over McCook. The Class D-1 Wolves later lost matches vs. Holdrege and 14-4 Hastings St. Cecilia.

McCook will host its next two matches on Tuesday when area rival Cambridge and Cozad visit Tuesday for a triangular. First serves are set for 5 p.m.
