GERING, Neb. — Gering missed a game-tying PAT with only seconds remaining and McCook junior Gabe Roberts smoothly recovered the onside kick to secure this 24-23 Bison victory Friday evening.

Junior Tristan Campbell unofficially rushed for 250 yards, overcoming his early fumbled kickoff that turned into Gering's first touchdown.

Campbell scored two TDs for McCook while junior quarterback Trenton Raile and receiver Miles Pollmann also connected on their third aerial score this season.

The Bison win leaves both district rivals at 4-1 as Gering had won four straight starting this season.

McCook also prevailed even though senior lineman Quentin Terry and junior linebacker Oliver Corbett were both on crutches due to injuries. Again, much more will be mentioned soon on mccookgazette.com and in the next edition.

McCook returns home for game six against Hastings next week.
