Bison always a slippery 'pickle' to catch

Fans have enjoyed McCook senior Malia Hilker cause chaos for other teams on the softball diamonds before. Thursday in Ogallala was no different as the senior center fielder’s slide (above) helps dislodge this softball from a Chadron infieler at second base. The Cardinals then catch Hilker a little too far off second after that next ball was put in play (below) and gets caught in one of those classic softball/baseball “pickle” chase scenes. Hilker eventually does get caught but it takes three Cardinals (bottom photo) to get into this fray before she’s actually called out. Hilker and McCook still had the most to smile about with their 13-2 big win.
