McCOOK, Neb. — A benefit auction and dinner supporting the McCook YMCA’s $16 million capital improvement project is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Coppermill. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner set for 6:30 p.m., followed by a program and live and silent auctions. The dinner will feature a low country boil.

Auction items include two club-level tickets to a Broncos vs. Chiefs game, a two-day golf trip for four to Dismal River Golf Club, a one-day golf trip for four to the Prairie Club, a guided pheasant and quail hunt from Hunt Nebraska, and several other items such as grills and a solo stove.

The YMCA has already raised more than $15 million toward its $16 million goal for the "Our Town, Our Y, Our Future" capital improvement project. The renovation will include an expanded gymnasium with an elevated walking track, a renovated indoor aquatic center, a modern fitness and wellness center, a youth development center, an outdoor playground, and social spaces for families and community groups. Construction will begin once the fundraising goal is met and is expected to take 18 to 20 months.

Tickets for the event are available for $50 at the McCook YMCA front desk. More information can be found at mccookymca.org.
