West Q surfacing to begin Monday

Friday, September 27, 2024

McCOOK,Neb.— The City of McCook has confirmed that street resurfacing work on West "Q" Street, between West 3rd and West 5th Streets, will begin on Monday, Sept. 30. Shelco Construction, the contractor for the project, will carry out the work, with crews working from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each school day to minimize disruption to McCook Elementary School traffic.

The milling phase of the project is expected to be completed in one day, followed by 1-2 days of asphalt resurfacing. During this time, drivers should be cautious of temporary bumps at intersections. Once the asphalt cools, West "Q" Street will reopen to traffic.

Residents needing to exit West Circle Drive will be able to do so via West "O" Street, where a temporary stop sign will be placed.

For updates or questions about the project, residents can contact Kyle Potthoff at (308) 345-2022 ext. 231.
