NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — McCook High's girls belted as many extra-base hits as North Platte had singles during an 8-0 Bison varsity softball win Tuesday evening.

The Bison are now 20-6 while northern nemesis and Class A North Platte really had no chance.

Senior Briley Morgan only allowed three singles, did not walk one batter and struck out six in five innings.

Meanwhile, eight Bison seniors once again delivered one hit or scored at least once.

Leadoff girl Brooklynn Gillen smashed another home run, doubled, scored twice and drove in three.

Seniors Roslyn Wiemers and Malia HIlker ripped two hits apiece with Wiemers delivering two RBI.

Seniors Lacyn Keller and Morgan both drove doubles past Bulldog defenders. Keller scored once while classmate Sydney Hodgson singled and scored two more runs.

Senior Danika Havlicek added one more run with Dani Johnson taking good swings besides part of another error-free defensive effort.

More will appear in Thursday's McCook Gazette.
