Warriors and DC-S now 4-0; Trojans make it three straight wins

ARAPAHOE, Neb. — A stellar mid-season showdown is all set as Arapahoe and Dundy County-Stratton both blasted to 4-0 records Friday evening.

Arapahoe 67,

Southern Valley 6

ARAPAHOE, Neb. — Seniors Grayson Koller rushed for 139 yards and William Cacy 135 while teaming for six touchdowns.

Amazingly, Koller needed only five carries meaning he averaged nearly 28 yards a tote.

He rumbled 20, 65 and caught a 20-yard pass for scores during the 33-0 first quarter.

Senior Trenton Roskop found Koller with that six-point strike that made it 26-0.

Cacy carried 51, three and 22 yards to pigskin paradise while the margin reached 40-0.

Clayton North’s 44-yard journey finished the 47-0 first half.

North actually matched those older Warriors’ three TDs when he went two and 10 yards across the goal line during quarter four.

Sophomore Briggs Hill added a five-yard touchdown run.

North finished with 63 yards on eight rushes.

Southern Valley fell to 0-4 with one score on a seven-yard Tyler Grove TD pass. The receiver’s name was not obtained.

Grove carried 10 times to an Eagles-high 45 yards.

Koller made a team-high five tackles and assisted on two other stops.

Sophomore Wyatt Soncksen added four tackles and four more assists.

Arapahoe senior Loenel Diaz kicked off 10 times during the game and nine turned into touchbacks.

The Warriors will face 4-0 DC-S as coach Mike Spargo’s Tigers were trouncing Hi-Line 50-7 just north 30 miles or so in Elwood.

No individual stats were obtained.

BERTRAND, Neb. — Freshman quarterback Abram Norton threw two TD passes and ran for two touchdowns as the Trojans captured their third straight dominating victory Friday.

Norton gained a team-high 85 rushing yards though senior Jayden Ruf added 83 on six carries with another six-point gallop.

Senior Tayten Koeppen added 47 ground yards and junior Brady Ahlemeyer 44. Ahlmeyer only rushed two times and scored one TD.

Junior Hodge Raburn was the top pass catcher overall, gaining 36 yards with his three receptions.

Juniors Ruggles, Maverick Webb and Ahlemeyer each made eight total tackles. Ruggles and Ahlemeyer both delivered five solo stops.

Seniors Ruf, Carter Hanes and junior Colton Perks were each credited with six tackles.

Junior Braydon Miller joined Perks in sacking the quarterback twice each.

Overton 40,

Hitchcock 20

OVERTON, Neb. — The 4-0 Overton Eagles won this battle of undefeateds thanks to a 20-6 first quarter which became 40-6 through three periods Friday.

Senior Hayden Muirhead fueled the Eagles, scoring four touchdowns during his 163-yard rushing performance.

No details were obtained for coach Randall Rath’s 3-1 Falcons. It capped an incredibly tough week which included the tragic death of assistant coach Scott Porter.

Med Valley 33

CURTIS, Neb. — The visiting Ansley-Litchfield Trojans earned their first win this season against 0-3 Medicine Valley.

Cozad 46,

Chase County 24

COZAD, Neb. — Unbeaten Cozad scored 20 second-quarter points to break a 6-6 tie and never looked back Friday night.

Chase County (2-2) never quit as the Longhorns did outscore Cozad 18-6 during that final period.

Rawlins Co.,

Trego 24

TREGO, Kan. — Senior Ryan Sramek was running wild to 302 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries Friday night.

Senior Dorian Culwel added another 48 yards with a TD.

Meanwhile, junior Tru Dewey’s amazing 15 solo tackles among 22 total helped the Rawlins County (Kan.) Buffaloes reach 2-1 this season.

Senior Asa Popp broke through blocks to 13 tackles including five solos and junior Tucker Prideaux was part of 11 (seven solo stops).

Wallace Co. 6

OBERLIN, Kan. — Sophomore Josiah Patangall gained 177 yards with 20 rushes to three TDs for 2-1 Decatur Community, Kan., Friday evening.

Patangall was blazing off 342 yards in the Red Devils’ previous contest.

Sophomore Gage Williby and Patangall also each threw a touchdown pass. Freshman Kaden Sowers caught Williby’s strike and Williby pulled in one from Patangall.

Wallace County slipped to 2-1 this season.
