Two arrested after Palisade burglary, attempted fuel theft
PALISADE, Neb. — Two individuals were arrested early Saturday in connection with a burglary and attempted fuel theft at Happy’s Feed Store & Coffee Shop in Palisade, according to the Hitchcock County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities responded to a report of suspicious activity at the store around 6:30 a.m. Geisel R. Machado and Geomar G. Hernandez were detained and later charged.
Both were arraigned Tuesday in Hitchcock County Court, with a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 4 at 12:30 p.m. in the Red Willow County courtroom in McCook.
Machado faces charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools. Hernandez is charged with burglary, theft by unlawful taking, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
The Chase County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in the investigation.
