Red Devil runs for 342 in loss; Rawlins rumbles to 64-0 win

OBERLIN, Kan. — Sophomore Josiah Pattangall rushed for 342 yards and five touchdowns, but Decatur Community (Kan.) lost 44-40 to visiting Dighton (Kan.) last weekend.

The Red Devils (1-1 record) only delivered 50 more yards beyond Pattangall carrying 35 times. They led 14-8 through one quarter before Dighton took a 28-20 halftime lead.

Dighton rushed for 210 yards as a team and senior Daniel Cramer completed 17 of 24 passes to gain another 214. The more balanced Hornets prevailed since Decatur only completed two passes for 33 yards.

Junior Tyler Ostmeyer did catch score a touchdown among his two pass receptions from sophomore QB Gage Williby.

Greeley County 0

ATWOOD, Kan. — Rawlins County (1-1 record) took a 50-0 first-quarter lead and coasted through last weekend’s win.

Senior Ryan Sramek scored three TDs with 94 rush yards, while senior Dorian Culwell carried five and gained 71 yards leading to two scores.

Junior Tucker Prideaux added a sixth Rawlins rushing touchdown.

Freshman Raeth Worthy also caught a 31-yard scoring strike from frosh classmate Dominique Paz. Paz also carried to 33 of the Buffaloes’ 296 rushing yards.

Defensively, Rawlins made nine tackles behind the Greeley line as freshman Tanner Lankas made three and senior Eli Holle had two.
