WAUNETA, Neb. — The Wauneta-Palisade Broncos were running wild at 16 yards per carry during their 66-0 home win over Banner County Friday evening.

Junior Casey Walker needed only four carries to score three touchdowns and amass 145 rush yards.

Walker’s longest gallop was 65 yards as the Broncos raised their record to 2-1 this season.

Sophomore Krayton Wiese was even better at two carries for two touchdowns, gaining 48 with 31 and 17-yard TD rumbles.

Junior Konner McCrumb’s only tote of the pigskin turned into a nine-yard score and sophomore David Bryner added another score during his three carries for 15.

Krayton Wiese rushed for another Bronco score.

Senior Nathan Blackman’s only pass was — you guessed it — a 35-yard touchdown to senior Aden Acton.

Yet sophomore Noah Sandman didn’t even need to actually carry the football for his score. He fell on a fumble in the end zone which helped the Broncos lead 48-0 after just one quarter.

Banner County found no success either against the W-P defense even tough their roster of players is a perfect football number: seven.

Freshman Ayden Baker’s 10 tackles (five solos) stymied the Banner attack and Bryner assisted on nine stops.

Freshman Wyatt Hilbert was in on six tackles with five each for Wiese and Wheeler.

Wauneta-Palisade made 12 tackes behind the visitors’ line of scrimmage.
