TORRINGTON, Wyo. – The McCook Community College golf team finished third at the Eastern Wyoming tournament. Eastern Wyoming dominated the field on their home course shooting a 274 Friday to finish at 13-under par – 56 shots better than second-place Central Wyoming.

MCC shot a two-day 626 to finish seven shots back of Central Wyoming and one shot better than Otero College.

“It was nice to see the guys more competitive this week, however there’s still lots of room for improvement,” said MCC Coach Grant Case.

Eastern Wyoming golfers took the top five individual honors. Joshua Chapman and Taiki Sugawara finished in a first-place tie with three-under par 141. Coltin Powell was a shot back and Mathis Fortin and Tytan tied for fourth with even-par 144s.

MCC sophomore Andrew Brown (Wollongong, Australia) shot a 70 Friday to finish in eighth place. He had a two-day score of 148.

“Andrew played really well to lead us the second day,” said Case. “It’s nice for us to have already carded an individual under par round this early in the season.”

Freshman Cole Graham (McCook High School) shot a first-round 72 and was in third place after Thursday play. He followed that up with an 83 on Friday to finish at +11 and a two-day 155.

Sophomore Ross Donachie (Narin, Scotland) had rounds of 83 and 79 to finish at +18. Chance Gambini (sophomore, Las Vegas, Nevada) had rounds of 86 and 78.

His two-day total was 164.
