Hooked for Life

Bruce Thatcher, 8, Indianola, landed the biggest fish, a 21-inch channel catfish, at the last Hooked for Life event of the summer, Saturday at Barnett Park. Twenty-five adults and 19 kids took part, landing 129 fish a total length of 756 inches. The awards banquet for participants and families will be 5 p.m. Sept. 21 at Barnett Park, unless bad weather moves it to the Evangelical Free Church, 602 East 14th. Awards will be handed out, and prizes will include cash plus four lifetime fishing permits for kids. Winners must be present to collect.
