Friday, September 13, 2024

McCOOK, Neb. — Weather permitting, the Blackshirt Feeders’ turn lane project will begin Sept. 23 on US-34, from reference post 0.80 to 1.20, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Shelco Construction is doing the added turn lane work.

This project includes building a new driveway, railroad crossing and adding turn lanes to the highway. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers. A 12-foot width restriction will be in place. Anticipated completion is Nov. 2024.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
