MAYWOOD, Neb. — Close wins can decide playoff spots down the road and Maywood-Hayes Center now owns two huge football victories this season.

The Wolves edged Maxwell, 21-2o, Thursday night in a game RPAC’s Facebook page described “as one of those battles that really no one deserved to lose.”

Yet Maxwell slipped to 1-2 while May-Hay’s now 2-1 in coach Tanner Collins’ first season of leadership.

No other details were obtained before today’s Gazette press deadline.

The Wolves clawed past Wilcox-Hildreth, 19-18, during their Six-Man season opener on Aug. 29.

May-Hay will aim for a 3-1 record when Wolves tangle at Loomis one week from tonight.

Loomis’ Wolves are 2-0 so far this season.
