Chase County, Perkins boys match points at Longhorns' invite

IMPERIAL, Neb. —

Chase County and Perkins County’s boys both totaled just 25 points wile leading the 10-team pack at Thursday’s Chase County Cross Country Invitational.

The Perkins tandem of Mason McGreer and Elijah Goodell finished 1-2 just ahead of Chase leader Haven Hauxwell.

All three finished the course with times below 17 minutes.

Tevin Moreno and Navy Smith gave Chase three of the top six boys finishers overall.

Team scores, top 15 medals and other Gazette-area finishers.

Chase County’s girls took third behind top five placers Alayna Smith and Tessa Smith.

Maywood-Hayes Center freshman Agnesha Sankey finished 12th, less than four seconds before Chase veteran Ashlyn Heermann.

The Longhorns are set to compete in Thursday’s McCook Invitational at Heritage Hills.
