McCOOK, Neb. — McCook’s offense and defense both scored touchdowns while dominating throughout a 35-0 JV win over Kearney Catholic Monday night.

Coaches Kolton Stone and Jeremy Young provided plenty of insights into this latest win:

“We were very proud of the boys and how they played Monday night. Grady Miller got us started with a nice 10 yard run for a TD and he can thank our O-line for paving the way for him!

After the first TD, our defense held strong and the offense went a little cold, credit to the KC defense!

It wasn’t until the second quarter we were able to put some more points on the board. Thanks again to the O-line and strong running from our running backs!

This time, quarterback Trip Raile, walked in for a three-yard little scamper.

KC started to put a little drive together moving down the field. Thankfully, the defense bought into our “bend but don’t break” mental ity” and stopped them on fourth down on our own 30 yard line.

Tripp, being a good leader he is, led a perfect two minute offense to score with six seconds left before half. He connected with Asher Wilson on a 55-yard touchdown pass!

The second half started alot like the first half with a Miller TD run, this time he sprung a nice 30-yard run and he wouldn’t be denied dragging tacklers into the end zone.

The cherry on top would definitely be the Brody Anthony scoop and score to cap a perfect defense outing.

Game ball has to go to the defense for keeping the shut out!”

Wilson also finished five-for-five on PAT kicks.
