McCOOK, Neb. — McCook unleashed another seven-run first inning and never looked back through a 12-1 softball varsity road win over Kearney Catholic Tuesday evening.

Coach Easton Gillen's Bison (13-3 record) are now 6-0 in September. They haven't lost since falling 3-2 to Lincoln Northwest at the Holdrege Invitational title game on Aug. 31.

There was never any doubt about another win McCook played all 12 runs during the first three frames. All nine starters delivered at least one hit, run or RBI.

Senior Briley Morgan tripled among her two hits with two RBI. She also permitted just two Kearney Catholic hits while pitching another complete-game victory.

Morgan threw four innings, striking out and walking one. The only KC run was unearned.

Catcher Roslyn Wiemers doubled, singled, scored once and drove home two.

Senior Paige Bortner also totaled two hits, two runs and RBI.

Seniors Lacyn Keller and Malia Hilker each scored two more times. Senior Danika Havlicek matched Morgan's team-high two RBI.

Seniors Sydney Hodgson and Dani Johnson each knocked in another Bison run.

Watch for more on Thursday. The Bison play at Lexington Thursday night.
