Osborn campaign continues 'debate' series sans Fischer

McCOOK, Neb. — Despite Senator Deb Fischer’s decision to decline all proposed debates, Dan Osborn’s campaign is moving forward with its original plan. The campaign had initially scheduled four debates—one in each of Nebraska’s congressional districts, along with an additional debate at the State Fair.

Determined to engage with voters, Dan has decided to hold these events regardless of Fischer’s absence, even leaving an empty chair symbolically representing her at each event.

The next event in this series is set to take place this Saturday at the Keystone Business Center, located at 402 Norris Ave, Suite 401, McCook on the third floor.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Formatted like a traditional debate, the forum will begin with Osborn delivering his opening remarks. However, instead of a formal moderator, the audience and any press in attendance will be invited to play the role of moderators, posing questions directly to Dan. It’s an opportunity for attendees to have their concerns addressed in a more direct and open format.

Campaign organizers hope that Fischer will reconsider her stance and participate, but until then, they are moving forward with the debates as planned.

“We’re keeping the chair open for her,” Dan’s campaign said, emphasizing the importance of transparency and open dialogue with Nebraska voters.

The event is free to the public, and the campaign encourages local residents and media to attend.
