Bison girls golf to third in home tourney at Heritage Hills

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook Bison "Red" was third behind Minden and just four strokes of catching runner-up Holdrege as coach Carol Brown's team finished third overall among nine teams at their home invitational on Friday.

McCook Red shot 384 with Minden taking first at 337. Holdrege edged the Bison for second at 380.

Ogallala, Lexington, Southwest and Cambridge were other teams competing.

McCook juniors Kapri Loop and Laney Peters both finished top five individually.

Loop captured fourth at 88 while Peters' 89 placed fifth. Mindanao's KayLynn Jorgensen was the champion with her round of 75.

Bison sophomore Paige Broomfield placed 13th overall at 103 and freshman Hailey Smiley was one behind at 104 for 14th. Senior Haley Bedeck's 106 claimed 17th overall
