McCOOK Neb. - Neal Corey has made wooden toys for over 25 years. His collection is currently on display at the Museum of the High Plains.

In addition to the toys he makes, Corey’s full-size 1946 Willys Jeep, fitted with a wooden body, is also on display inside the museum. Corey says he did not start the Jeep, but a friend bought it at a Phionex Arizona auction. Corey said, “He brought it up here, and I finished it.”

The collection created by the retired Burlington Northern Santa Fe Conductor includes numerous replicas of vehicles, tractors, and ships. Corey shared that each piece can take hundreds of hours to complete.
