Raiders blank Colts, clinch MFL Seventh-Eighth team title

The Raiders brushed aside three MFL foes, 67-12, during their MFL Seventh-Eighth Grade championship run at Weiland Field.

McCOOK, Neb. — Gus Smith’s 22-yard touchdown run broke a 0-0 tie and the Raiders went on to their 8-0 MFL title-clinching win over the Colts Wednesday.

Bentley Broz caught a two-point pass from Parker Anderson for more than enough offense The Raiders only permitted 12 points in three Seventh-Eighth Grade league victories.

Their 67-12 margin was easily this season’s largest.

The champion Raiders’ roster consists of Gus Smith, Henry Blecha, Abel Wilson, AnnaLee Shapley, Parker Anderson, Kirah Baker, Kasyn Hoyt, Telen McDonald, Bentley Broz, Cooper Rupp, Dominiq Quezada, Connor Pilgrim, Reid Mathews, Gavin Mckinney, Cooper Henderson, Gunner Cox, Jacob Thurmond, Riley Einspahr, Chanc Leibbrandt and Deikan Clapp. Coaching the Raiders were McCook High alums Adam Dugger, Lucas Gomez-Wilson, Jacob Gomez-Wilson, Alex Anthony and current Bison Brody Anthony.
