Imperial Juniors win 16-0 to stay in C-7 tourney title chase

VALENTINE, Neb. — The Bridgeport Bombers got bombed, 16-0, with Imperial's Pinnacle Bank Juniors scoring all their runs in two innings of Sunday's C-7 Area Tournament elimination game.

Carter Kuenning drove home three runs while Conner Stromberger delivered two RBIs during a second consecutive dominant performance from the 12-11 Imperial Horns.

Breton Moreno, Evan O'Neil, Tristan Jablonski and Tate Teply each delivered a hit while Imperial also drew seven walks from Bridgeport.

Destry Oxford walked twice. Moreno and Noah Rau each swiped two of seven Imperial stolen bases.

KMoreno and Jablonski scored three runs apiece. Oxford, Kuenning and Aaron Cervantes each rounded the bases twice en route to two runs each.

Kaden Vogt pitched 2 2/3 innings without allowing a single Bridgeport base hit. Stromberger walked one then struck out one to finish this survival victory.

Imperial powered through a 9-0 victory over the Sheridan County Security First Regulators on Saturday.

O'Neil and Ray teamed to pitch a one-hit shutout.,

Jablonski doubled, singled, totaled two RBIs and scored once.

Moreno added two singles which helped lead to him scoring three runs with an RBI.

Thomas Reeves joined Oxford in adding two runs each from the 1-2 batting order spots.

Reeves singled twice while Vogt drilled a double.

Imperial has recovered from Friday's 10-2 opening playoff defeat against host Valentine. The teams will meet again tonight as they finish pursuit of a Class C state tournament spot.

Valentine took 6-0 command through two innings and eventually permitted just one Imperial hit.

Reeves ripped a single though the Hornsl also worked six walks.Moreno and Jablonski both scored those Imperial runs.

Oxford, Jablonski and Vogt all worked on the mound for Imperial.
