Hot Tub Brokers celebrates over 20 years of excellence
McCOOK, Neb. - One of the long-standing businesses in the community of McCook is Hot Tub Brokers just off of West B Street. They have now been in business for over 20 years.
Hot Tub Brokers has always aimed to offer the best products for their customers and provide support to buyers after they purchase a hot tub.
“We have three different brands, Cal Spas, Clear Waters, and Artesian. Hot Tub Brokers strives to provide the best service for all of our customers, wherever the need arises. We also service hot tubs and above-ground swimming pools that are not bought at our business,” owner Jody Stewart said.
Hot Tub Broker’s selection allows them to find the one that fits their customers’ needs best.
“We strive to find our customers the best hot tub that meets their needs. We have a large selection of hot tubs and each have deep tissue therapy jets to help with chronic aches and pain,” Stewart explained.
Founded by Blaine Budke, current owner Jody Stewart took over from Budke in 2021, after having been the business manager since 2009 and working under the previous ownership for 13 years.
“I started with Blaine when we were still on the hill where Outlaws is now. I did all scheduling and bookkeeping for all of his businesses,” Stewart said.
The business always keeps their showroom full of new and varying models of hot tubs and firepits, and has just added above-ground pools and saunas to the mix of products they provide.
“We’re one of the few companies in this area that does above ground pools, so that’s something that makes us unique,” Stewart noted.
Not only has Hot Tub Brokers been expanding the services they provide, but they have also expanded the area they cover, delivering and installing hot tubs in Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas.
“I try not to compete with North Platte too much, but we don’t sell a lot of the same hot tubs so we have some clients from there also.”
As part of their offerings, they will also offer maintenance visits, either weekly or bi-monthly, for the pools and hot tubs they sell.
“Not everyone has the knowledge or time to take care of the maintenance of their hot tub or pool, so we take care of it for them,” Stewart explained.
One of the most challenging obstacles the business faced, like every other business, was the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Supply chain was a major issue for us. We usually can get a hot tub delivered to us in about two weeks. During Covid it was taking over a year for one to get to us,” Stewart remarked.
The business has also made significant advancements in the technology and efficiency of the hot tubs they offer.
“All of the hot tubs are way more efficient than they were a few years ago, meaning less money spent on electricity and maintenance. They also all come with led lighting, waterfall, heater, pump valves and ozonator,” Stewart said.
Through everything, Hot Tub Brokers has managed to garner a wide client base from their many years of operations.
“Many of our customers are first-time buyers, while some choose to upgrade every two or three years. For those new to hot tubs, I often recommend purchasing a pre-owned one. If they don’t end up using it, the investment isn’t as significant. If they do use it and enjoy it, they can keep it for a year or so and then trade it in for a new one.” Stewart explained.
Hot Tub Brokers has five employees if you don’t count Sylvester the cat in the showroom.
“Wayne and I are very lucky to have such great and dedicated employees,” Stewart declared.
Rebekah Wolcott has been their administrative assistant for two and-and-a-half years. Chance Pearson has been a service technician for two years, Kyle Conroy has been a service technician for one year, Tucker Conroy has been a service technician for one year, and Kyle Stewart has been a service technician for two years.
“We are so thankful for all of their hard work and dedication to the business,” Stewart said.
