McCOOK, Neb. — Minden Legion Post 94 suffered only its second loss in 18 games thanks to McCook National Bank’s 9-1 Seniors victory Tuesday evening.

The Seniors are now 9-2 through their last 11 as Simon Garcia and Quentin Terry both drove home two runs to help break an early 1-1 deadlock.

Minden (16-2 record) could only must four hits against another strong MNB pitching performance.

Trey Tiller hurled all six innings, never walking a batter while striking out four. The only Minden run scored on a third-inning wild pitch.

MNB (17-13) answered promptly with a two-out, tie-breaking rally.

Gabe Roberts happily took another inside pitch off a body part while smiling as if to say “thank you, sir, may I have another!”

Terry instead crushed the next hittable pitch which sailed so far that Minden’s backpedaling center field could not squeeze it.

Roberts raced home and the Seniors never looked back. Terry would eventually score thanks to Garcia being hit by a bases-loaded pitch.

MNB then unleashed a five-run fourth inning which included hot hitting Miles Pollmann’s RBI-single. He finished three-for-three after an excellent home weekend tournament.

Pollmann, Roberts and Tristan Campbell each scored two runs. Campbell singled and drew a walk.

Garcia added his own run-scoring base hit.

The Seniors now take off for a “far west” road trip where they’ll visit Scottsbluff Friday, Gering Saturday and Alliance on Sunday.

They’re scheduled to play a doubleheader at each stop.

“The guys will get a feeling of what it’s like to be on a college team,” coach Chris Conroy said. “It should be a good time.”
