MNB, FCB both beat Melons while Pinnacle will play for title

GOTHENBURG, Neb. — A report from McCook Legion Post 203 baseball following busy Thursday evening action. More will appear in today's McCook Gazette.

Pitchers in control of the game between McCook National Bank Seniors and Gothenburg.

MNB Bank was able to score two runs to Gothenburg one Thursday evening.

The Seniors are now 10-10 entering Saturday's 3 p.m. home game against Cambridge-Arapahoe.

FCB Juniors had a fantastic pitching performance in Gothenburg, striking out 12, allowing two hits and runs. FCB (10-5 record) was able to score five runs in the fifth inning. They had 12 hits in the game. F

CB wins 7-2.

Quick trip to Cozad after the Gothenburg game to finish a rain delay from last month. Tie game 4-4 after 3 innings. Cozad scored two runs in fifth and would add one more run while FCB only scored one more time.

Jaime Samaniego went three for four hitting. Cozad wins 7-5.

Pinnacle Bank Junior B scored seven runs in the first inning against Holdrege. It looked like the game might be over in the third but Holdrege chipped away each inning. Pinnacle Bank able to hold on to the lead and win 11-8.

They will advance to the league tournament championship game on Monday at Lexington for an 8:15 p.m. start against Loomis.

Pinnacle Bank won the league regular-season title with an 11-2 record.
