Younger Rebels take three from Cozad softball teams

COZAD, Neb. ­ — McCook’s 14-and-under Rebels earned their 10th win this season with a 6-4 conquest of Cozad Classics Grey Wednesday evening.

The Rebels (10-6-1) scored all six runs during their first two innings then held off any Classics comebacks.

Ellie Havlicek struck out six while pitching a four-inning complete game.

She singled and scored the firsdt Rebels run.

Pavyn Terry drove home an early run as did Carly Rupp.

Hannah Peterson drew two walks which led to another crucial Rebels run.

Leighton Anderson delivered another clean hit and worked her way around the bases to reach that magical destination. Karagynn (last name not obtained) added one more run.

Meanwhile, the Rebels 12-and-under team swept Cozad Bazata by 6-2 and 3-2 finals while raising their season record to 15-13. Scarlet was hit by a pitch to plate that winner in game two.
