A few months even before Lenny Dawson and Hank Stram led Kansas City’s Chiefs to their first Super Bowl, Indianola High School Chiefs were capping an amazing 10-0 Eight-Man state championship season in 1966.

On Saturday, star quarterback Jerry Liess (below) was inducted into Nebraska’s Eight-Man Football Hall of Fame. Much appeared in recent days on the Gazette sports pages with some final details later this week.

Liess continues to credit Indianaola Chiefs teammates (above) as these joined him for the ceremony.
