HASTINGS, Neb. — Another year where the West All-Stars shout, “Westside,” as they walk off Lloyd Wilson Field at Hastings College.

In the 47th Annual Sertoma 8-Man Football All-Star Game, the West All-Stars came out with a 22-8 win over the East All-Stars.

Central and western Nebraska showed out, with South Loup’s Trey Connell being named the West’s offensive most valuable player, while North Platte St. Patrick’s Brecken Erickson was named the West’s defensive most valuable player.

The game was put to sleep, when Sandhills-Thedford’s Rhett McFadden tallied a safety, with less than four minutes to go. T

he two points came at a familiar spot for the state champion, as McFadden is headed to Hastings College to play football.

Dundy County-Stratton alums Brodie Rogers, Jackson Kerchal and Derek Noffsinger were all part of the victorious West All-Star squad with Southern Valley grad Kamden Bose.

Kerchal and Rogers were both part of an aggressive, ballhawking West defense that limited the East to one score through this entire contest.

Noffsinger was playing a major role on the West offensive line as they delivered one final fourth-quarter victory-clinching touchdown.

Southern Valley alum Kamden Bose (left) played quarterback for the West All-Star team Saturday night, but he also showed no worries about lead blocking for one of his running back teammates during this 22-8 win over the East All-Stars at Hastings College. Bose was a super three-sport athlete for the Eagles.
