The World Atlas website has named McCook one of the eight best Nebraska towns in which to retire.

“Known to be incredibly friendly, at least most of the time, McCook promptly puts a retiree at ease. The sense of community is top-notch, and if you don't want to be known, McCook may not be for you,” the site says.
