McCOOK Neb. — At its upcoming Monday meeting the McCook City Council is expected to recommend the Department of Transportation accept the proposal from Denver Air Connection to operate 12 nonstop round trips per week from McCook Ben Nelson Regional Airport to Denver International Airport for a 2-year contract as recommended by the Airport Advisory Commission.

DAC is requesting $3.567 million the first year and $3.816 million the second, or nearly $6,000 in federal Essential Air Service subsidies for each round-trip flight.

A public hearing will be held to hear a request for a special exception by the Community Hospital Association to allow a structure containing only residential uses in the Central Business District, said property located at 409 West 1st Street and legally described as Lots 16, 17, 18, and the south 5 feet of Lot 19, Block 9, Original McCook Addition to the City of McCook, Red Willow County, Nebraska.

PFM Financial Advisors, LLC will present the Annual Cashflow Analysis for the Water and Wastewater Utility Funds.

The consent agenda which is approved with a single vote will include awarding the bid for the 2024 Armor Coating Project to Topkote Inc. of Yankton, South Dakota in the amount of $5.297 per gallon, and awarding the bid for McCook Business Park Phase II grading and paving project to Gerih Concrete & Construction in the amount of $58,393.98, both being the lowest best bids.

The consent agenda will also include approving proposed lease agreement for leasing 68 acres of farmable land located in the City of McCook Well Field and set the date to open bids for March 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.

Once again an Executive Session may be held upon a majority vote of the Council for the protection of public interest for a strategy session with respect to real estate purchase for Sports Complex

  • I have been looking for a flight from Denver to McCook in August and there are no airlines that come up providing air service into McCook, every search engine or travel site and I think I’ve used them all give me the same message no flights to MCK airport from DEN. I’ve also tried going through Omaha and the same message is displayed. You really need to get whatever carrier you contract with to put flights to your community into the flight data. I worked as a travel agent for many years and thought I knew all the tricks so I contacted some people still working and even they could find no connections to MCK, I’ve decided to drive back from Denver in August because booking into town doesn’t seem to exist. Really sorry because for years I’ve flown in for the convenience and it’s always supported your economy by the numbers using the airport but it doesn’t seem to work anymore.

  • Google Search "What airline flies out of McCook ne?"

The airport consists of two paved and lighted runways (6,450' and 4,000') and a 1,350' turf runway. The airport is a part 139 airport and is currently served by Denver Air.

Doesn't seem to difficult to figure out. And if you search the area you'll find that United Airlines flies out of North Platte which is just one hour north.
