KEARNEY, Neb. — A pair of 3-1 Kearney Catholic Stars teams await the McCook Bison basketball teams for their 6 p.m. girls-boys varsity doubleheader.

The Bison began a series with K.C. last season where they split two tight games just before holiday break.

McCook’s girls are off to a strong 4-2 start after they finished on a 35-8 run and defeated Cozad, 60-43, Tuesday evening.

McCook’s boys are 2-3 overall with their most recent game a 57-40 victory over Burlington, Kan., at the Goodland, Kan., Topside Tournament.

McCook continues a busy week when the old familiar rival Holdrege Dusters invade McCook High Saturday for a 5 p.m./6:45 p.m. pair.

Both Holdrege teams are taking 2-2 records into contests at Gothenburg tonight.

The Holdrege girls are fresh off a 51-27 triumph over Sandy Creek.

The Dusters dropped that S.C. game but own two wins by more than 20 points over Broken Bow and Centura.
