Narcissistic abuse
Dear Editor,
The column on the Faith page for Oct 6, 2023, about Narcissistic abuse was excellent. I didn’t even know what narcissism was until about 2004 when I read a similar article explaining this personality disorder. Some people probably don’t even realize there is something wrong with this sort of person because they have always accepted them for the mean person that they are.
Our Gospel in the church this weekend was from the prophet Isaiah. It spoke about the land owner who let tenants rent out the ground then took advantage, which is similar to another parable that speaks of all the work one did to the vineyard, only to have wild grapes and briars take over. One can interpret these stories in a number of different ways but I must point out that wrong is always wrong and a lie is always a lie no matter what the intent. A narcissist has NO feelings. They only want control by any means possible.
I have started on the book that I always said I would write, so when I get it done and printed I will let everyone know. It will be more of the same farm anecdotes and probably political opinions as well as other family-related happenings in our married life as well as some other interesting notes.
On a happier note this week, the Bison football team did well with some upper-class leadership showing what they can do since the team has suffered so many to injuries in recent weeks.
Congrats to them! Also, Phelan Sanford # 37 for N.U. had an awesome game for the defense and helped put Southwest Nebraska in the National spotlight. The Nebraska Volleyball team is giving our state a lot to cheer about too.
Have a Good One!
