McCook golfer medals at SWC tournament
McCook didn’t leave Awari Dunes Golf Course without some Southwest Confernce honors Tuesday afternoon.
Lainey Peters shot five or lower on seven of the nine holes, and she took that momentum to 13th place overall with 100 round.
Peters led McCook’s 72-stroke win over Ainsworth for ninth among the 10 teams competing.
Broken Bow’s 347 won the SWC team title with a seven-stroke margin over Minden at 354.
Best Bow golfer Camryn Johnson also captured the league title as she shot 76.
Ironically, Johnson finished seven strokes better than top contender and Bow teammate Molly Custer (83).
KayLynn Jorgensen’s 86 earned third and started a Minden Whippet run where four golfers placed in the top 10.
Haley Beideck’s 118 was next for McCook while sophomore Kapri Loop finished at 122.
Paige Broomfield’s 142 capped a 482 total.
