McCook 'Y' getting tumbling program set for fall

McCOOK, Neb. – The YMCA Tumbling program is offering a new class fall schedule and adding “Jitter Bugs” for the ages of 5-7, starting in August.

With the addition of a new tumbling class and updated schedule, the YMCA of McCook welcomes Tumbling Instructor- Zoie Horinek.

Zoie is an experienced tumbling and gymnastic coach. She has spent 10 years of gymnastics practice following a year of coaching prior to her arrival at the YMCA of McCook. Zoie is from Atwood Kansas and is studying Early Childhood education at McCook Community College.

Fall YMCA Youth Tumbling program schedule:

Baby Bugs (parent supported ages 1–3)

This class focuses on balance, coordination, and skill development for parents and their tots.

The class is held on Wednesday, 9:30-10:10am. Cost: Y-member $20/month, Community Member $35/month.

Tumble Bugs (ages 3-5)

Introduction to the art of tumbling in a fun, active, learning environment. The class is held on Tuesday, 4:00-4:45pm. Cost: Y-member $25/month, Community Member $40/month.

Jitter Bugs

(ages 5-7)

Jitter Bugs class takes the skills developed at the Tumble Bugs class and uses them to begin learning more difficult skills.

All students are encouraged to develop their tumbling skills in balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength of body and mind in a safe and nurturing environment.

Participation does not require to have taken Tumble Bugs.

The class is held on Tuesday, 5:00-5:45pm.

Cost: Y-member $25/month, Community Member $40/month.
