Redevelopment projects on council agenda Monday

McCOOK, Neb. — More action to expand McCook’s business park and a housing project on the north side of town is on the agenda for Monday night’s meeting of the City Council.

Public hearings will concern designating land destined to become the McCook Business Park Phase II as “blighted and substandard.”

That designation will allow tax increment financing for the property, which is also on the agenda.

The council will also consider a redevelopment agreement with the McCook Economic Development Corp. modifying the redevelopment plan for the North Pointe Redevelopment Project. Using TIF financing for the project is also on the agenda.

The council will also be asked to approve the use of Norris Park for Heritage Days Oct. 13-14, a special designated liquor license for Heritage Days and another for a craft show at the fairgrounds Alice Arena on Oct. 21, and a $135,7000 bid with Gerih Concrete Construction LLC for a 40x40-foot storage building at the wastewater treatment plant.

A damage claim for nearly $7,000 from Quality Inn & Suites will be forwarded to the city’s insurance company and a lease agreement for the water tower will Alltel Communications of Nebraska dab Verizon Wireless will be considered.

Councilors will also receive updates on the swimming pool and ballpark projects.
