McCook senior state medalist Alex Anthony (left) returned from injury to compete in Tuesday's home dual against Gothenburg.

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook High’s young wrestling team learned more against some of the best from Class B Top 10 Cozad Tuesday evening.

The Haymakers won this dual, 61-6, with five pins and some open weights.

Bison 220-pounder Quentin Terry delivered his own pin as he overpowered Chris Ruano and threw him to the home mat.

Terry’s eventual pin only required 1:12.

Jack Siegfried opened the dual with a strong performance before falling just short, 7-6, at 126.

The most memorable match was McCook freshman Tristan Campbell taking on returning state medalist Dreu White.

Campbell built a 4-1 lead through the first two periods.

However, White was able to score a late match-tying reversal which made it 4-4.

They tangled through several more seconds of regulation and into overtime before White finally delivered this well-earned win.
