OGALLALA, Neb. — McCook girls scored pins in half their matches while winning both wrestling duals at Ogallala Thursday evening.

There were a lot of forfeits and even some double forfeits throughout this triangular.

Yet freshman phenom Peyton Cock pinned both her 120-pound opponents which raised her season record to 15-0.

Cock was victorious whether the match went quick (20 seconds vs. Sidney) or took some time (4:58 vs. Ogallala).

Junior Chayse Johnson delivered another win for the Bison at 105 pounds with her pin in exactly three minutes.

Otherwise, forfeits dominated the matches as McCook brought more wrestlers than these two western rivals.

Junior Makayla Pate reached 13-0 thanks to two forfeits at 170.

Elina Decker and Noleigh Stephens raised their arms signaling wins against Sidney.

Aubrey Seybold and Meka Daub joined Johnson, Cock and Pate in scoring the decisive points vs. Ogallala.

The Bison will surely confront better challenges during Saturday’s Norton (Kan.) Invitational.

While Nebraska girls wrestling has only officially started season two, Kansas started the sport several years ago and typically bring experienced teams.

The Norton Invitational is set to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday. Complete results from Thursday’s triangular.
