So do you ever get a bit dissatisfied after watching the national news and pondering the things gone wrong in this wonderful country of ours? Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s January 6th committee meeting to dishonor former President Trump. Representatives Maxine Waters and Chuck Schumer braying out violent threats against the Supreme Court Justices who decided Roe vs Wade differently than what the lefties had in mind. President Joe Biden’s war against the petroleum industry causing our fuel prices to go sky-high. President Joe and his left-leaning Democrat Congress who passed out gobs of “free” money to leftist projects causing inflation to make our personal money be worth less and less.
The list goes on but currently, the elite Democrats have turned on Justice Clarence Thomas for his majority opinions wiping our the national control of human abortions and gun control. To understand the Democrat Party has been the party of racist belief and action since its founding. They fought the Civil war to keep all black-skinned people slaves. They lost that one and then pushed Jim Crow to keep the blacks in line. The KKK was their enforcement agency. LBJ’s 1946 equal opportunity laws, more Republicans voted for it than did Democrats, kind of canceled Jim Crow but the racist feelings still prevailed. Now it is time to punish Clarence Thomas who has gotten out of line for Democrat feelings of the proper thinking of a black man.
Enough of the bad. A drive past the Red Willow County Fairgrounds this past weekend showed more horse trailers than I have ever seen there before. The Marquee stated that barrel racing was the attraction. Evidence showed a majority of riders tending to their horses were young ladies and that fits.
Next door at the ballpark every field appeared to be in action. The parking lot was packed with cars. In all hundreds of parents tend to their youth in wholesome activities. A good thing.
Walking through the fairgrounds on Sunday evening after all but three or the horse trailers had departed everything was in order. Stalls were cleaned and the debris placed in the proper places. I could find only one scrap of paper and this gent picked it up to put in a trash bin. It always is that way. Pride.
The only way we can improve the DC swamp is at the voting booth and sadly we can’t vote against the majority of them. Still, locally we can take pride in looking at the way our neighbors take pride in their surroundings and give thanks and be satisfied that this is a wonderful place to live.
That is the way I saw it.
