INDIANOLA, Neb. — Marvin Riley, age 78, of Indianola, passed away at the University Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, on Wednesday April 20, 2022.

He was born on Aug. 13, 1943, to Gilbert and Vonnie (Duncan) Riley in Pawhuska, Okla. The family moved to Nebraska, where Marvin graduated from McCook High School in 1962.

In 1967, Marvin married Ruth Klinzeman and to this union two sons were born: Brent and Brice. On Nov. 23, 1984, he married Shirley Allen in Indianola.

Marvin was employed at McCook Packing, hauling to New York. He worked at Parker Hannifin for over 30 years in the warehouse before retiring. After he retired, he drove a truck for Ryan Peters and Morgan Mud. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. He and Shirley belonged to the Good Sam Club and enjoyed traveling, visiting family and winter trips to Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Vonnie; brother, Charles (Vivian) Riley; sons, Robert Boen and Michael Boen; and great-granddaughter, Azalea Boen.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Shirley Riley; sons, Brent (Ronda) Riley, and Brice (Gina) Riley; daughter, Belinda (Jim) Baxter; 15 grandchildren, Brian Riley, Dustin Riley, Kristin Clapp, Zack Riley, Emily Riley, Melissa (Jedd) Flower, Matt (Brooke) Franklin, Adam Baxter, Andrew Baxter, Anthony (Monique) Baxter, Amanda Baxter, Melony (Eric) Patton, Jesse (Sarah) Boen, Jonathan (JoAnna) Boen, and Justin (Desiree) Boen; 17 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, LaDonna Boen and Annette Boen; sisters, Cleta (Gene) Baumfaulk and Sharon (Neal) Meints; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 10 a.m., at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. The family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Interment will be in the Indianola Cemetery.
