KEARNEY, Neb. — Elvera “Elly” G. Crick, 89, of Kearney, died Monday, March 7, 2022, at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Funeral services will be on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Kearney. Rev. Drs. Rick and Michelle Carlson will officiate and burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials in lieu of flowers are directed to First Lutheran Church or the Trails and Rails Museum. Elvera was born on Nov. 2, 1932, in Grand Island, Neb., to Frank and Hala (Lohman) Guenther. She was baptized at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island. In September of 1933, Elly moved with her family to Kearney. She was educated in the Kearney schools, graduating from Kearney High School in 1950.

On May 18, 1952, Elvera and James Crick were married. They were blessed with two children, Jeffrey of McCook and Jan Baker of Kearney. Jim and Elly farmed east of Kearney until their retirement in 1992. They were active members of the First Lutheran Church. Elly will be remembered for her love of family, her concern for others and her hospitality.

She is survived by her husband, Jim of Kearney; son, Jeff Crick and his wife, Beth of McCook, Neb.; daughter, Jan Baker and her husband, Al of Kearney; three granddaughters, Crystal (Scott) Hinrichs of Kearney, Jessica (Chad) Meyer of McCook and Alyssa (Tyler) Wyant of Kearney; two grandsons, Brandon (Bailey) Crick of McCook, and Nate Crick of Omaha, Neb.; five great-grandchildren, Adyn and Adelyn Meyer, Avery and Leighton Hinrichs and Bowen Wyant; additional survivors include her niece, Kathy George, her husband, Charlie Dickey of Estes Park, Colo., her sons, Brian George and girls, Aleena and Arianny of Estes Park and Kyle (Jessie) George and sons, Landon and Jackson of Fort Collins, Colo.
