TRENTON, Neb — John Thomas “Tom” McBee, age 80, of Trenton, passed away at Community Hospital of McCook on Dec. 16, 2021.

He was born on July 19, 1941, to Frank and Lucille (Ball) McBee in McCook, Neb. Tom served in the Army National Guard from 1964 to 1969 and was honorably discharged.

Tom was united in marriage to Janice “Jan” Dodge on July 3, 1968, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 22, 2002. Tom farmed for a while but then was employed for 30 years at Dayco of McCook as a product stacker. Tom loved taking care of his cats and chickens. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Nebraska Sports and the New York Yankees. Tom was always available to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucille; wife, Janice; infant son; brother, Ward and Lois McBee; sister-in-law, Karron McBee; and special friend, Betty Robinson.

Tom is survived by his sister, Doris and Leo Smith of Tuscon, Ariz.; brother, Steve McBee of Kearney; extended family, Laura Parde; Josh and Julie Parde and Schyler and wife, Autumn Marks Parde; along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Rev.Fred Ricely officiating. Interment will be in the Trenton Cemetery with Military Honors.
