Trojans, Raiders roar to 2-0 starts
CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — No overtime or last-second drama was needed for Cambridge to finish a 51-35 win over Wauneta-Palisade Friday night.
Senior Dahlton Wood calmly dropped in 10 points on four of six shots as the Trojans reached 2-0, one night after rallying from 13 down to edge Hitchcock County 58-57.
Sophomore Carson Trompke netted nine points, senior Cole Fiene seven, senior Austin Harris and sophomore Ben Hobarty another six for the Trojans.
Derek Trompke tallied all his points on a trio of trifectas from long range.
Junior Will Taylor’s 11 rebounds were another reason why Cambridge controlled the contest. Wood pulled down eight.
No individual results were obtained for the Broncos, who slipped to 0-2 this season.

GOODLAND, Kan. — Senior Nolan Burrell scored 22 points to lead the Dundy County-Stratton boys’ first win of this season Saturday.
The Tigers (1-1 record) got 10 points from senior Mark Nelms and senior Quade Myers dropped in another seven.
Junior Corbin Horner collected eight rebounds between four assists.
The Tigers topped a Goodland team that won its opener by 25.
DC-S shook off an opening 65-48 loss to Yuma, Colo., where Burrell scored 13 points.

PAXTON, Neb. — The Medicine Valley Raiders rolled to a second consecutive win this season Friday evening.
Med Valley (2-0) broke free from a 10-8 first quarter with a 13-4 second period.
