LINCOLN, Neb. - Roselin Lee Doss passed away on February 4, 2020 at her home in Lincoln, Nebraska.
She was born on December 10, 1929 at Fostoria, Iowa, the daughter of Clark and Clara (Heikens) Straub. She was raised on a farm in the North Woods of Minnesota, near Carlton. She graduated from high school in 1948 and moved with her parents to Whitney, Neb. She spent a year at Chadron State Teachers College before moving to Alliance, Neb. where she worked at a music store. There she met Georgia “Jack” Doss who she married on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, 1950, in the Methodist Church at Whitney.
She and Jack lived in McCook for many years. She was involved with her children in Boy Scouts and 4-H. One of Rose’s great loves was her Shetland Sheep dogs. She raised many and showed them in the AKC dog shows. She shared her love and expertise of dogs as a leader in the 4H Dog Club in McCook. Many knew her through her dog grooming business or when she groomed dogs at the Four Winds Animal Clinic. She always enjoyed a Nebraska football game, a card game of pitch and seeing her family.
She is survived by her children Michael Doss of Austin, Texas, David (Sandra) Doss of Johnson Lake, Neb., Robert Doss of Lincoln, Richard Doss of Eugene, Oregon and Amy Hoff of Lincoln; grandchildren Mindy (John) Brewster of Denver, Colo., Ryan (Jordan) Doss of Austin, Texas, Donavan Hoff (Shaina) of Swedeburg, Neb., and Sommer (Brody) Hoff of Lincoln, and 8 great-grand children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack; her parents; an infant sister, Mary Etta and a grandson Levi Doss.
