KEARNEY, Neb. — Vonda Kay Brunswick, age 72, of Kearney, formerly of McCook, Neb., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, at Kearney Regional Hospital in Kearney.

Vonda was born Aug. 26, 1949, in McCook to parents, Orville W. and Elsie M. (Barger) Shull. She was one of four siblings. Vonda married Manny Brunswick on Oct. 18, 1967, in Oberlin, Kan. The couple was blessed with three children, Jerry, Karen, and Brenda.

Vonda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and had a strong faith in the Lord. Her mother’s bible was very special to her. Vonda was a member of the First Christian Church in McCook and the First Baptist Church in Kearney.

Vonda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy (Shull) Rohr; and her brother, Charlie Shull.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband of 54 years, Manny Brunswick of Kearney; son, Jerry (Susan Peterson) Brunswick of McCook; daughters, Karen Brunswick of Kearney and Brenda (Rocael) DePaz of McCook; sister, Marilyn Matson of Trenton, Neb.; brother-in-law, Wayne Brunswick of McCook; sisters-in-law, Darlene (Brunswick) Lambert of McCook and Donna Salliday of Manhattan, Kan.; 11 grandchildren (Joseph, Michelle, Kimberly, Kelsie) (Stephanie, Diana, Keneth, Rebecca) (Natasha, Amanda, Anthony); 12 great-grandchildren (Tristen, Brayden, Harley) (Carlos) ( Scarlett, Aria, Landon) (Abigail) (Nevaeh, Mariah, Ezmeralda, Judah) and a host of extended family members and close friends.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, McCook.

Memorial contributions are suggested in Vonda’s name to help defer funeral expenses.
