LINCOLN, Neb. — McCook senior Isaac Hinze has earned a spot on the Nebraska Coaches Association Class B all-state tennis first team.

Hinze delivered two awesome seasons as the Bison No. 1 singles player. He finished this fall even stronger, reaching the Class B finals match before losing to first team captain Gavin Forster from Elkhorn Mount Michael.

Mount Michael took home the team title, but McCook’s boys reached their highest team finish ever with a Class B state runner-up trophy.

Bison junoir Evan Humphrey and sophomore Nathaniel Miller made the Class B second team as they were also state runner-ups.

Juniors Payton Dellevoet, Joel Miller, sophomores Lincoln Michaelis and Jonny Frank earned Class B all-state honorable mention.

No fewer Bison took home state medals, and Frank had a super first year at varsity No. 2 doubles until suffering an elbow injury just befoer those final few meets.

Coach Matt Wiemers provided a complete recap of all the Bison tennis honors this fall.
