Wolves, W-P Broncos run into tough foes

MAYWOOD, Neb. — The Maywood-Hayes Center Wolves fell to Perkins County, 44-12, on Friday though senior Weston Morrow caught five passes for 98 yards.

Junior Kyler Cox fired two TD strikes with Tanner Sherman catching one covering 27 yards.

Cox was an impressive seven-for-nine passing overall, gaining 130 yards.

Junior Ethan Sihm’s 110 rushing yards powered Perkins County.

The visitors only outgained MH-C, 243-238, according to maxpreps.com.

Freshman Kody Schwenk’s 29 yards led four Wolves who gained more than 20 on the gorund.

Sophomore Gage Gerlach gained 24 on six carries and senior Jett Sjeklocha took his six totes to 20 yards.

Sjeklocha’s 17 total tackles topped the M-HC defense.

Garrett Hanna completed 18 of 29 passes for 165 yards to highlight Wauneta-Palisade’s second game of the season Friday night.

Michael Duvel caught eight, gained 92 yards and scored one touchdown.

The Wolves still fell behind 27-6 by halftime in Franklin’s season opener.

Hanna totaled 10 tackles and recovered two fumbles for the Broncos defense.

Kyle Jutten scored one more W-P touchdown when he ran eight yards. He carried 15 times total for 62.
